Newton Animal Control responded to a call about a cat trapped on utility wires in Hardwick as residents were concerned about the cat's safety with rain incoming, they said.

Three women attempted to get the cat down while animal control called New Jersey State Police to assist, Newton Animal Control said. Blessings Tree Service and Landscape also offered to lend a hand before Planet Networks, a Newton based internet service provider, swooped in two cat loving employees who grabbed the cat and helped contain the feline, Newton Animal Control said.

"The compassion for animals... is unmatched," the Newton Animal Control said. "We are very grateful."
